A Little Princess (December 6, 2008 – January 10, 2009)
In this engaging musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic book, Sara Crewe, heiress to a large fortune, is enrolled at Miss Minchin’s seminary in Victorian England. Sara’s life takes a sad and dramatic turn when she receives news of the loss of her father…and her fortune. The greedy Miss Minchin forces Sara to become a servant and live in a wretched attic room. When a mysterious gentleman from India moves next door, curious things begin to happen. Eventually Sara even discovers that her lost fortune has been restored. This touching story, complimented by a beautiful musical score, is sure to be one of your family’s most memorable holiday treats!

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Ugly Duckling,” this musical version of the classic children’s story retells the adventures of an odd-looking baby duck named Ugly, and his quest to find his mother. Soon after Ugly is born, he is lured away by a wily cat who wants to eat him for dinner. Ugly manages to escape, but has no idea how to return home. Along the way, he encounters a beautiful swan, Penny, tangled in a fishing line. After saving her, the two birds fall in love. However, she must return to her flock and fly south for the winter. Eventually, Ugly’s mother finds him frozen in the snow, but her warm tears thaw him out and he comes back to life—as a handsome swan! Soon, Ugly is reunited with Penny and the two swans decide to live the rest of their days together in the same pond with Ugly’s loyal mother.
Disney’s Mulan Junior (March 5 – April 18)

The Pirates of Penzance Junior (June 20 – August 1)

This timeless Gilbert and Sullivan musical farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted lovers, and an eccentric Major-General focuses on a young pirate-apprentice named Frederic. On his 21st birthday, Frederic tells his shipmates that he plans to give up life as a pirate to marry Mabel, the daughter of the Major-General. Alas, the pirates point out that Frederic was born on February 29th, meaning he is actually only four and must stay with them for another 66 years until he “comes of age”! When the police arrive to capture the pirate crew, the pirates announce that they are actually lords of the realm gone bad. Declaring their renewed allegiance to Queen Victoria, they renounce piracy and allow Frederic to marry Mabel after all, with everyone merrily singing their way to a “proper” happy ending.
Disney’s 101 Dalmations Kids (August 6 – September 26)

The 1961 hit animated film provides the basis for this musical version relating the story of dalmation-parents Pongo and Perdita, who happily raise their many puppies in a loving London home until wealthy, eccentric socialite Cruella De Vil lays eyes on them. In an attempt to buy the puppies to make a new fur coat out of them, the monstrous Cruella offers their owners a huge sum of money. When the offer is summarily refused, Cruella steals the puppies with the help of her bumbling henchmen, Jasper and Horace. Heartbroken and desperate, Pongo and Perdita join the dogs of London in a daring rescue attempt. Will they find the kidnapped pups before it’s too late?
Count Dracula Flies Again (October 3 – November 7)

Mr. and Mrs. Dracula decide to take up residence close to a sanatorium “for the disturbed.” Included among its weird and wacky residents are Vera and Truly Odd, two sisters who never can complete a full sentence, and Mrs. Half-Nelson, who busily knits with invisible needles and yarn. Enter vampire hunter Van Helsing, who is determined to discover the villain’s identity. It isn’t an easy task, since people keep appearing and disappearing, poisoned food is on the menu, and a howling wolfman prowls the darkened halls.
